North South Corridor

North-South Corridor (NSC), originally called North South Expressway, will be Singapore’s first integrated transport corridor to connect towns in the North to the city centre and featuring continuous bus lanes and cycling trunk routes. North South Corridor express bus services save travel timeThe dedicated bus lanes for express bus services will reduce travelling time from Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun and Ang Mo Kio to the city by up to 30mins and also make bus connections between residential towns along the NSC faster. Cyclists can also benefit from the cycling trunk route along the NSC, which will link up Park Connector Networks and the dedicated cycling path networks within HDB towns along the entire corridor to the city centre.North South Corridor cycling trunk route ride to the city

The NSC will commence at Admiralty Road West in northern Singapore and proceed southwards along Woodlands Ave 8, Gambas Ave, Sembawang Road. NSC will connect towns along the north-south corridor—Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan and Toa Payoh—with the city centre. The NSC will also provide links to existing expressways, including the Seletar Expressway (SLE), Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) and East Coast Parkway (ECP).

LTA will be calling tenders for the construction of the 21.5km North-South Corridor. Preparatory works for the construction have been carried out. Major construction works will start in 2017 after the civil contracts are awarded, and the new NSC is expected to be completed around 2026. you can read more about this first integrated expressway in Singapore here.
